*AMY – PT*	Amy is from Litchfield Park, Arizona. Amy was involved in competitive swimming from a young age. It was her involvement in swimming that sparked her interest in physical therapy. She attended Northern Arizona University (NAU) in beautiful Flagstaff, Arizona where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science and then her Master’s in Physical Therapy. In physical therapy school, she met her husband Esteban Azevedo. While in school both Amy and Esteban attended additional continuing education courses through the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine (IAOM). Following graduation Amy and Esteban went to Alaska to help start a physical therapy clinic. While in Alaska, Amy became certified in orthopedic manual therapy for the spine and extremities from the IAOM. After four chilly but enjoyable years in Anchorage, Alaska, Amy and Esteban moved to beautiful Kansas City, Missouri and opened Modern Physical Therapy in 2004. Currently, Amy and Esteban are working on completing their Doctorates of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University.Amy and Esteban had a sweet little girl in April of 2010. “I am fortunate to work with highly trained, skilled, and compassionate physical therapists and office personnel. I love coming to work every day. Of course my greatest passion is working with patients and helping them with their recovery.”
*ESTEBAN – PT*	Esteban is from Tucson, Arizona. Esteban went to University of Arizona and earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise and Sports Science. During his undergraduate studies he was a personal trainer and loved helping people become healthier. It was this passion that leads him to physical therapy. He attended Northern Arizona University where he earned his Master’s in Physical Therapy and more importantly met his wife Amy.While in physical therapy school Esteban attended additional continuing education courses through the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine (IAOM). After graduation Esteban and Amy went to Alaska to help start a physical therapy clinic. While in Alaska, Esteban became certified in orthopedic manual therapy for the spine and extremities from the IAOM. Esteban began teaching for the IAOM in 2005.Currently, Esteban and Amy are working on completing their Doctorates’ of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University.
*DAWN – PT*	Dawn is from Council Bluffs, Iowa. She began to fine tune her interest in physical therapy while attending Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. At Truman she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. She then moved to Dallas, Texas to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW). She completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at UTSW. Dawn spent an extensive amount of time at Modern Physical Therapy as a physical therapy intern while completing her doctorate. Her great sense of humor, work ethic, and skills as a manual therapist earned her a job at Modern Physical Therapy. She is currently working on completing her certification in manual therapy from the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine. Dawn has an amazing sense of humor and keeps the everyone at Modern Physical Therapy laughing. Dawn has proven herself to be a very dedicated physical therapist, but she also has many other interests outside of the world of physical therapy. She holds to the philosophy that “laughter is the best medicine”, and abides by this philosophy every day.
*TONY – PT*	Tony came to work at Modern Physical Therapy in 2009. Prior to working as a staff therapist, he spent a large amount of time as an intern with Esteban Azevedo, PT at Modern Physical Therapy. Tony is from Falls City, Nebraska. He graduated from Doane College with a BS in athletic training. While in college he also was a pitcher for Doane’s baseball team. After completing his BS he went on to achieve his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas Tech University. He is currently pursuing a certification through the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine in manual therapy of the spine.
LISA – FRONT OFFICE MANAGER	Lisa wears many hats at Modern PT. Her primary job title is Office Manager. She is also the resident office mother as well. Lisa was born and raised in Hastings, Nebraska, but has lived in Kansas City for many years. When not working to make the clinic run efficiently, she likes to spend her spare time reading, knitting, crocheting, and playing board games. She also enjoys traveling. She and her husband Wayne have four great children/adults and are very active in their local church. Lisa is a great asset to the clinic. Her diligent work and friendly disposition helps to the make the clinic a great place to work.
